My name is Evelyn Cheng. I am a mountain enthusiast, couch philosopher, amateur scientist and the Registered Dietitian at Eatuitive Nutrition. The quote from the famous climber resonated with us in particular because it emphasizes how the journey is just as important as the outcome. 

The same philosophies that help elite athletes achieve peak performance can be applied to our modern lifestyles. We work together as a team to take a supportive approach to what proper nutrition eating and exercise looks like in each person’s life, guiding you in the right direction on your journey.

This means we start our programs with resting metabolic rate and body composition testing, so that we can consider the objective data unique to each individual, applying the science of nutrition to our daily lives. We then follow with a nutrition assessment, 1-day nutrient analysis, fitness advisor session and meal plans so you have resources to support your peak health.  

I received my five-year degree in nutrition from the University of Alberta. Post-degree, I also received the Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from the University of Calgary to better understand how and why people eat, as well as maintaining the ACSM certified personal trainer designation. During days off, you will find me deep in the mountains climbing, hiking or cycling. Michael K. Best, Fitness Advisor

My name is Michael K. Best. I am a tinkerer of things, observer of the universe from the subatomic to the cosmic, and I apply these systems within the world of Fitness as the Advisor at Eatuitive Nutrition.

At 40 years, I am currently training on the 14th iteration of my peak physical self. From having sustained multiple injuries in my youth (broken L1L2 vertabae twice, femur, ribs, wrist, pelvis to name a few, and that’s only the bones!), I can guide you on how to expedite growth without compromise, with life-long methods as I am a walking, living example of what to avoid, and what is truly needed.

Combining my observations and efforts with the empirical science of food from our registered dietitian, over the course of 5 years I achieved results I never dreamt possible. I maintained a single digit % body fat and muscle striations while eating better than ever!

There is no magic. Movement with confidence is fundamental to efficient growth. In the mind, as with the body, these laws are inextricably linked. 

In addition to my practical experience, I am trained through the American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM)’s certified personal trainer program and in nutrition by our Registered Dietitian. Outside of work and training, you will find me tinkering all day. My obsession is in understanding the nature of things, as the systems it teaches us is applicable to everything.
